Police service in territorial and non-territorial forces
Experienced in the fields of trading standards and community protection

Hello, and welcome to the online home of Trusted Eye Investigations.

I'm Andrew, Trusted Eye's owner.   Here, I'll take a few moments to tell you about my background and why Trusted Eye is a great choice as a provider of investigation services.  You can also read more about me on my LinkedIn page.

My law enforcement career began in 2003 when I volunteered as a special constable and latterly a special sergeant.  Soon after, I joined the regular police service, serving  territorial and non-territorial forces, including as a wildlife crime officer, professional development officer, and a temporary sergeant.

In 2014, following a change in career direction, I joined a large English unitary council's trading standards team, first as a tobacco control officer, then as a consumer protection officer with a remit for fair trading work.

In 2017, I was promoted to lead a community protection investigations team with a remit for fraud, illicit tobacco and intellectual property offences,  money laundering, and more complex consumer crime.  I remained in this role until May 2024.  Much of my time was spent investigating and supervising investigations into high-harm consumer criminality (including offences with vulnerable and intimidated victims and witnesses), offending with a high financial benefit, conspiracy matters, and offending involving vulnerable and intimidated victims and witnesses.  I have excellent skills in file preparation, have considerable court experience, and have often advised other professionals on subjects within my expertise.

Over the last eighteen years, I have gained a reputation as a a resilient and tenacious investigator, with a keen eye for detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.  I am down-to-earth but exhibit a professional outlook, am committed to outstanding customer service, and am result-oriented.  In 2008, I was awarded my force's probationer of the year award.  In 2016 I was nominated as my directorate's 'employee of the year'.  In 2018 I received the Chartered Trading Standards Institute's Fair Trading (Criminal) Award; and in 2022 I was nominated by colleagues to receive my Council's unsung hero accolade.  I am committed to my ongoing professional development and a member of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute and Association of British Investigators.

Whether you are a private individual, business or public authority, I look forward to serving you.
